TOWN AND COMMUNE
Buea is the capital of the Southwest Region of Cameroon. The city is known for its educational hub hosting numerous institutions of higher learning (public and private) with tens of thousands of students located in Fako Division on the eastern slopes of mount Cameroon and has a population of about 300000 people.
MOUNT CAMEROON
Mount Cameroon is an active volcano in the South West region of Cameroon located in Buea near the Gulf Of GUINEA. Mount Cameroon is also known as Cameroon Mountain or Fako by its indigenous name Mongo Ma Ndemi (Mount of Greatness). That speaks how you would feel when you are in Buea especially at Victory Residence.
VON PUTTKAMER CASTLE
This Bavarian style castle was built around 1920 and located in the city is evidence of the German colonial era. It is a former residence of the German Governor Jesko von Puttkamer and is now closed to the public and serves as Presidential Palace.
BISMARCK’S FOUNTAIN
Bismarck’s fountain was built in 1899 and dedicated to the first chancellor of the German Empire Otto von Bismarck
DOWN BEACH
Buea is a few kilometers from the Limbe deep sea port which is made up of excellent beaches, clean, economical, very quiet, very safe and transparent water. For example, down beach is a very famous beach in Cameroon. The scenery of the beach is very beautiful and it is a good place to watch the sunrise and sunset.
LIMBE BOTANIC GARDEN
A German horticulturist built the Limbe Botanical Garden in 1892 where economical and medical plants such as quinine, coffee and hevea are grown. Botanical Garden is a place many wish to visit because it is an international center for biodiversity. When people visit this place, all they say is ’’ I absolutely love to stay in Toulon! Good food with continental dishes.
LIMBE WILDLIFE CENTRE
The scenery had a great time with a very professional and knowledgeable guide. The reason for being worth a visit is the story behind these rescue animals and the café offers delicious food and drinks. The wildlife is a house of numerous animals like monkeys of different species, lion, gorillas and reptiles. Having a view of how these animals behave is a great experience.
